End-User Tools: Desktop™, Remote Play™ and Web Plug-In™

The Gridmedia® Computer Game Framework™ offers three software tools for end-user computers. The Desktop Application™, available in the system tray, offers essential computer game functionalities, such as efficient local management of computer games and resources, in-game heads-up display with social media features, etc. The Remote Play™ tool enables users to try out games by playing them remotely over the Internet, and the Web Plug-In™ enables computer game-based Web sites that run computer games inside Web browsers.

Web 3.0 Computer Game Experiences™
With the increasing popularity of both broadband and multicore CPUs, along with the growing sophistication of game engines and community-driven game development, the stage is certainly being set for sophisticated 3D content in the Web 3.0 era. Our end-user software tools make it possible to create Web 3.0 Web sites that use high-end game engines to provide unique and spectacular user experiences.

Remote Play Experiences™
We can offer end-user and server-side tools to provide remote play experiences where computer games execute on servers. Our in-game heads-up display (HUD) is inserted into the game on the server. The HUD can be inserted into any DirectX-based computer game (i.e. most games). Our end-user remote play tool can connect to the game on the server to display a real-time audio-visual feed of the game play, and transmit user input data to the game (i.e. keyboard, mouse, game pad, etc.). Remote play experiences are great for offering demonstrations of games.

Desktop Experiences™
Computer games are usually very large (often several tens of gigabytes). We can offer desktop tools that make it easier to manage local and remote computer games, as well as enabling new social media features inside the computer games with our in-game heads-up display.

Licensing the End-User Tools
The End-User Tools are included in the Gridmedia Computer Game Framework. The tools are primarily licensed as parts of the Gridmedia Partner Program to providers of computer games. End-users can download the tools as a part of the services that are offered by our partners, or as a part of the services we offer in our Samples.
